Samsung intros four lines of business-oriented displays
Samsung on Thursday introduced four new lines of LED displays meant for business use. They include the 200-, 450-, 650- and 850-series, with the 850 getting Plane Line Switching panel technology for what Samsung says is the most accurate color reproduction. These monitors are meant for graphic or video editing applications. All four series, however, share Samsung’s Multi-domain Vertical Alignment (MVA) panel that has a 178-degree viewing angle. The 200-series monitors are meant for small and medium businesses on a budget and sport a thin bezel and matte display. Like the rest, a cable management system is in place. These ship in June in either 19-inch, 1440×900 or 21.5-inch, 1920×1080 sizes and resolutions. Comcast has began offering a new use for its traditional communications services with the Xfinity Home Security service. Six markets will get the option of ordering basic home security monitoring, remote lighting control, video surveillance or monitoring and remote digital thermostat control for potential energy savings. Nyko helped kick off E3 by rolling out three accessories targeting the Kinect, the 3DS, and the PS3. Zoom for Kinect refocuses the camera controller on a closer distance for apartments and other areas where Microsoft’s usual eight-foot requirement doesn’t give enough space.
