Adobe claims 1 million Flash downloads for Android

While Adobe has enjoyed widespread popularity of its Flash Player 10.1 app on the Android Market, surpassing the million mark, it still has some issues to sort out, said ZDnet. The main issue seems to be that as soon as sites detect a mobile OS, such as Android, they point them to the mobile versions of their site, which often do not include video. But Adobe is working on this issue, which will become a bigger one once tablets begin arriving in large numbers.

Anup Murarka, Adobe’s director of technical marketing for mobile and devices, said a team is tasked with making sure websites will properly identify the presence of Flash and will support it.

“ItÂ’s not an API issue,” said Murarka, adding Flash Player 10.1 uses the same code base whether on a desktop or mobile device but sites aren’t made to provide a desktop experience on mobile devices.
